Famileey has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. We are committed to creating a safe digital environment for all users, especially minors, and to actively preventing, detecting, and reporting any content or behaviour that endangers children.
1. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Famileey maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward any content, communication, or behaviour that constitutes or facilitates child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This policy applies to every user, family group, and piece of content on the platform — without exception.
Any account found to be involved in CSAE-related activity will be immediately and permanently banned, all relevant content will be removed, and the matter will be reported to the appropriate authorities and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law.
2. Prohibited Content & Behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited on Famileey:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any format — images, video, audio, or text.
- Grooming behaviour: any attempt to build inappropriate relationships with minors for the purpose of exploitation or abuse.
- Solicitation of minors for sexual content, conversations, or in-person meetings.
- Sharing, distributing, or linking to CSAM or any platform that hosts such material.
- Using Famileey to coordinate, plan, or facilitate any form of child exploitation or trafficking.
- Any content that sexualises minors, including illustrations, written descriptions, or digitally generated imagery.
3. Prevention Measures
Famileey employs multiple layers of proactive prevention:
- Age restrictions: Users must be at least 13 years old to register. Users under 18 require parental or guardian involvement.
- Family-only model: The platform is designed around verified family units, limiting exposure to unknown third parties.
- Content moderation: Automated systems and human review are used to detect and remove prohibited content before or shortly after it is posted.
- Photo & media scanning: Uploaded images and videos are scanned using industry-standard hash-matching technology (PhotoDNA or equivalent) to identify known CSAM.
- Account verification: We use Firebase Authentication to verify user identity, reducing anonymity and deterring bad actors.
- Restricted messaging: Direct messaging features are restricted and monitored to prevent grooming or exploitation attempts.
4. Detection & Reporting
We actively monitor the platform for CSAE-related activity through:
- Automated detection tools that flag suspicious content and behaviour patterns.
- User-generated reports reviewed by our Trust & Safety team within 24 hours.
- Regular audits of content moderation systems and escalation procedures.
- Cooperation with third-party child safety organisations and technology partners.
All confirmed CSAM discoveries are immediately reported to NCMEC's CyberTipline at missingkids.org and to local law enforcement, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and applicable international law.
5. Protections for Minors
Famileey applies additional safeguards for users identified as minors (under 18):
- Minor profiles are private by default and not discoverable outside their family group.
- Minors cannot receive messages from users outside their approved family connections.
- Location-sharing features are disabled by default for minor accounts.
- Parental controls allow guardians to review activity, manage connections, and restrict features.
- Minors are blocked from accessing or posting content flagged as mature.
6. How to Report
If you encounter any content or behaviour on Famileey that you believe involves child exploitation or abuse, please report it immediately:
- In-app: Tap the three-dot menu on any post, message, or profile and select "Report" → "Child Safety".
- Email: safety@famileey.com — our Trust & Safety team monitors this address 24/7.
- NCMEC CyberTipline: cybertipline.org or 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
- Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC): icactaskforce.org.
All reports are treated as confidential. We do not retaliate against users who report in good faith.
7. Law Enforcement Cooperation
Famileey fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies and child protection organisations worldwide. We will promptly respond to lawful requests for information and preserve relevant data in accordance with applicable law. We maintain detailed logs sufficient to support investigations into CSAE-related activity.
